On August 22, join Turtle Island Restoration Network for an exciting evening with our board member and NY Times bestselling author Wallace J Nichols, to launch the paperback version of his innovative book, Blue Mind: The Surprising Science That Shows How Being Near, In, On, or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected, and Better at What You Do, which explores the cutting edge neuroscience that shows the benefits of being close to water.
J will be joined in conversation with Jaimal Yogis, surfer and author of the best-selling coming of age memoir, Saltwater Buddha and The Fear Project and James Nestor, author of Deep—Freediving, Renegade Science, and What the Ocean Tells Us About Ourselves.
This benefit event for Turtle Island is generously co-sponsored by Point Reyes Books which is also offering tickets and books for sale. Books will also be available for purchase and signing at the event.
Join Turtle Island's board and staff to meet the authors at an exclusive pre-event benefit reception and a reserved seat for the Book Talk will be included in your ticket price. Enjoy wine, beer and hearty hors d'oeuvres at the beautiful Dance Palace in West Marin. Learn more about our work and enjoy a silent auction. Your ticket purchase will support our work to protect sea turtles, dolphins, whales, sharks, salmon and our world's oceans.
Book talk and book signing begins at 7:30 at the Dance Palace.
