Through artful collaboration, engaging summits, and interdisciplanary research Blue Mind is influencing the way we think about water and ourselves.
[Late Middle English: from Old French, or from medieval Latin influentia ‘inflow,’ from Latin influere, from in- ‘into’ + fluere ‘to flow.’ The sense ‘imperceptible or indirect action exerted to cause changes’ was established in Scholastic Latin by the 13th century, but not recorded in English until the late 16th cent.]

Blue Mind Summit Speakers (2011-2014)
Blue Mind connects the dots: neuroscience and psychology, nature and conservation, art and science, poetry and practice in profoundly important new ways. The result is an emerging, exciting, fast-growing new field we call Neuroconservation. With new research and more discoveries about "blue space" yet to come.
The early benefits of this inquiry have already influenced public health, education, parenting, business, coastal planning, travel, real estate, sports and recreation, and most importantly restoring and rebuilding our personal, ancient emotional connection with healthy waterways.
Blue Mind helps those working with and for our blue planet to do their jobs better by providing deeper insights and new questions about the science of "our brains on water".
We expand the "ecosystem services" conversation to include the vast array of cognitive and emotional services, values, and benefits offered by clean, healthy waterways.
Each year we hold a Blue Mind Summit, bringing together top neuroscientists, oceanographers, explorers, economists, psychologists, educators, and artists to consider new questions about the "human brain on water".
While only a few of our questions have been adequately answered, dots are being connected between disciplines and new narratives woven together.

In addition to the Conservation and Environmental fields we work closely with the following sectors to share the Blue Mind message: Health and Well-Being, Education and Pafrenting, Arts, Design and Architecture, Real Estate and Planning, Travel and Leisure, Sports and Recreation.
