Situated on the eastern portion of the community’s WaterSide neighborhood, right along an open space gulch, The Cove is situated amidst a natural backdrop.

Accessible for Barefoot Lakes residents, The Cove boasts a number of exciting features that will engage all types of families and individuals. The outdoor pool at The Cove offers a beach-style entry with kids play equipment as well as a six-lane lap pool section for athletes seeking a great competitive workout. Also outdoors, residents will find two pickleball courts and a multi-use court. Of course, the iconic nature trail system connects The Cove to the rest of the community, weaving through the surrounding neighborhood and down to the lakes. The outdoor space at The Cove also features a barbecue and grill area that residents can rent, as well as two fire pits that provide unique gathering spaces to enjoy a glass of wine around the fire at night – especially as cooler weather sets in this fall.

The inside of The Cove is a special space for the rare rainy day, or when snow coats the ground. Residents will find state-of-the-art fitness equipment in the fitness room as well as a group fitness area and flex workout room for yoga, pilates, and other fitness classes. The YMCA will be managing The Cove’s indoor fitness spaces, providing staffing and leading classes in the space. Inside of The Cove residents will also find amenities like a self-service coffee bar, a work station with USB plug-ins, and two different rooms available to rent for your next event. Both rooms have access to a catering kitchen to keep your guests comfortable and well-fed.

While access to The Cove is resident-exclusive, guests can pay a fee to visit the recreation facility. Barefoot Lakes will host a grand opening party at The Cove for residents on September 7. The event will allow residents to familiarize themselves with this new amenity and revel in the indoor spaces as colder months approach. Tours are available to potential homeowners.

Barefoot Lakes 5k/10k

The Cove opens just one day before the exciting 3rd Annual Barefoot Lakes 5k/10k on September 8. Registration is open at barefootlakes.com on the Events page, where you can also find more information about the race. “This year, we’ve partnered with Endurance Race Series again, the largest trail race series in Colorado,” says Demby. Endurance Race Series (ERS) hosts a multitude of races across the state and also in San Diego. They will manage the Barefoot Lakes 5K/10K and host the finish line festival at Peninsula Park, the perfect location for any afternoon festival with its pavilions, playground, picnic tables and amphitheater dotted amidst broad, grassy lawns. The finish line festival will feature a cookout and a Vendor Village with local businesses as well as all of the Barefoot Lakes home builders. Bring your gently used running shoes for donation.

KB Home recently joined the building community of Barefoot Lakes. They feature value-oriented family homes from the high $300s.
