A Plastic Ocean is a new feature-length adventure documentary that brings to light the consequences of our global disposable lifestyle. We thought we could use plastic once and throw it away with negligible impact to humans and animals. That turns out to be untrue.
Plastic Pollution Coalition will be hosting a panel discussion and Q&A following the screening, featuring the work of our Los Angeles-based members. The panel and audience will be having an important dialogue about realistic solutions to plastic pollution and the need for respect and inclusivity in the international environmental movement.
Panel includes:
-
Katie Allen, Algalita Marine Research
-
Anna Cummins, 5 Gyres
-
Ed Begley, Jr, actor and environmental activist
-
Jordan Howard, environmental activist and 2015 Women in Green Youth Trailblazer
-
Christie Keith, GAIA
-
Terrance Smith, student, Pullum Community Arts Center
Sponsors: 5 Gyres, Algalita, Blue Mind (Wallace J Nichols), Lonely Whale Foundation, Heal The Bay, Environmental Media Awards, Team Marine, Plastic Oceans Foundation, Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center, US Green Building Council-Los Angeles Chapter, The Bay Foundation
