The Nestucca, Neskowin and Sand Lake Watersheds Council is honored to host Wallace J. Nichols, author of "Blue Mind" for a special science pub and book signing event on Friday, Oct. 27th.

Dr. Wallace "J." Nichols, called “Keeper of the Sea" by GQ Magazine and “a visionary" by Outside Magazine is an innovative, silo-busting, entrepreneurial scientist, movement maker, renown marine biologist, voracious Earth and idea explorer, wild water advocate, bestselling author, sought after lecturer, and fun-loving Dad.
His current focus is on what he refers to as Blue Mind, a powerful new universal story of water. In this story society accurately describes all of the physical, ecological, economic, cognitive, emotional, psychological, and social benefits of healthy oceans and waterways. His book Blue Mind, published in summer 2014, quickly became a national bestseller and has been translated to numerous languages and inspired a wave of media and practical application.
Paperback copies of "Blue Mind" will be available to purchase with cash or check for $17 at the book signing after the talk - please email Whitney (assistant@nestuccawaters.org) if you are interested in purchasing one at the event so we have an idea of how many to order.
All tickets sales must be made online and will be used to cover the speaker fee for this event. We are expecting this event to sell out, so we recommend grabbing your tickets early!
