An endangered loggerhead sea turtle named Adelita makes an epic 7,000 mile, 368 day journey from Baja California, Mexico to Japan. Her route passed directly through the Pacific Plastiscape (aka "Great Pacific Garbage Patch"). She was the first animal ever be tracked swimming across an entire ocean. She was tracked between August 1996 and August 1997.
