SOCAP: Oceans is a theme this year to fuel innovation and attract a broader set of stakeholders to participate in the sustainability of our oceans. By reaching out to a new cast of characters to take a fresh look at the sources and systems that affect and are affected by the health of the ocean, the challenges will be reconceived in a way that supports existing ocean advocates as well as invites innovative new solutions.

SOCAP is a world-renowned conference series dedicated to increasing the flow of capital toward social good. SOCAP connects leading global innovators, investors, foundations, institutions, and social entrepreneurs to build this market at the intersection of money and meaning. We are gathering all types of doers and thinkers – this year even faith leaders – to take real and actionable measures on problems that need our attention right now as we progress steadily toward a better world.
Healthy Oceans, Healthy Communities
Oceans, HealthWednesday - 12:15PM to 1:15PM
Golden Gate
Overview
The well-being of our communities is directly related to the health of our oceans. For coastal communities, a thriving ocean can provide essential services through food commerce and recreation. This panel will investigate people and programs that connect people to the ocean, whether through the humble vehicle of a nutritious seafood dinner or a nationwide prescription to eat more anchovies. Saving the oceans goes hand-in-hand with preserving our own well-being.
