Who: 100 students and teachers from around the globe
When: February 10 – 12, 2017
Where: Dana Point, CA
What: A three-day intensive summit inviting 100 students and teachers around the globe to receive advanced training from experts in leadership, public speaking, community engagement, art, science, film-making, and more. The Algalita’s POPS International Youth Summit activates youth leaders from around the world to launch and lead action-oriented solutions to reduce plastic waste globally.
Speakers and Workshops
The weekend will be filled with inspiring speakers and hands-on workshops. Workshops will cover topics from action planning, scientific research, film-making, public speaking, and pitching projects and ideas.
Student Presentations
Based on the ideas that get them their ticket to attend the Summit, and the ideas and skills they gained through workshops, students will share their results and talk about plans to move them forward. Training sessions will help students develop a clear action plan to implement upon returning home.
Networking Activities
Networking is an essential part of building a solid community. The power in numbers is clear once you sit back and survey the results of your group effort. During the Summit, students will build the essential connections needed to spread their message far and wide.
