Dear 2017 Blue Mind Friends and Ambassadors!
On Monday October 16th we'll kick off the Blue Mind Book Relaunch (huh?).
[Oct 16th is also the birthday of Oscar Wilde who said "No better way is there to learn to love Nature than to understand Art. It dignifies every flower of the field."]
This book has been published for 3+ years, and the original launch events were at Bedruthan Steps in Cornwall, England and the Santa Monica Public Library, but the vast majority of people in the world (~ 99.999% of them at last count) haven't heard of or read Blue Mind. So for that one week we are going to treat Blue Mind as if it has just come out.
We’ll enthusiastically tell friends about it, share our discovery with fellow water lovers, write an Amazon review or an insightful blog post, give the book as a gift, get a case into a new shop, use book sales to raise funds for a favorite org, and generally make some blue noise!
Dig up your favorite quotes, articles, radio or TV reports, and photos (we've had some real gems) and share one of them each day all week.
Folks can grab a case of signed books from www.SlowCoast.org (along with 20 blue marbles and bookmarks) and have half their holiday shopping done! They can stop by their local library, favorite independent bookseller or shop for a new or used book online.
Our big picture mission is to change the conversation about water for good. Our short term boring, practical goal is to sell Slow Coast out of Blue Mind books before the holidays so the loan from our friend Louise can be paid back.
We're also inviting the whole Slow Coast staff to join us in this effort.
So, mark your calendar for the October 16th Blue Mind Book Relaunch and get ready to get your blue mind on all week. We can do it!
