The author, Wallace J. Nichols, is a senior scientist at the Ocean Conservancy – a nonprofit headquartered in Washington, DC – that serves to restore sustainable American fisheries, protect wildlife from human impacts, conserve special ocean places, and reform government for better ocean stewardship.
