Emotions and the ocean….
Some of you know that feeling when the day’s too long. You can’t wait to end whatever you are doing and head out to … the beach. Maybe the closest you’ll get is driving over a bay bridge, but that helps. Any little sight, sound or smell of the big blue sea helps!
That said, I bet not many have thought about the impact that the oceans have on our emotions. Well, lucky for us, somebody’s thinking about it. A lot of somebodies actually.
They are oceanographers, ecologists, neurologists, psychologists, artists, ecology, policy makers, and more, and their thing is to explore ‘your mind on ocean.’
They work to understand and celebrate the emotional and spiritual impact of connecting to something bigger than ourselves; in this case, the ocean. This new science of neuroconservation explores how that connection calms us, inspires us, teaches us … keeps us sane.
