Serene & Surreal: June 27th is National PTSD Awareness Day

Sarah Gulick made this beautiful film. In her words: "Some of my most favorite, beautiful, and fun people LIVE with PTSD. I'm really grateful that each day they choose to keep living, and I understand some days that is a lot harder then others. I've created many films in the last ten years, but this one will always be especially meaningful to me. I find bliss in paddling, I cherish our wild places, and I am beginning to appreciate the deep, beautiful, joyful, ache of compassion. Saturday is National PTSD Awareness Day — I'm posting this early to encourage everyone to please share the film, share your thoughts, or just let someone know you care!"
Exploring miles of boardwalk and a dense canopy of old growth hardwood trees is what many visitors experience at Congaree National Park. During winter months, waters from the Conagree and Wateree Rivers sweep through the floodplain, opening up a new, surreal world. Congaree wilderness is a place to escape, reflect, and enjoy. Kayak through the forest and experience this special place through the eyes of local veterans Eric Guzman and Edye Joyner who find a reprieve in the healing and dynamic waters.
